Our Story

It began with a dog...

My name is Taylor Gassert, and I am the owner of Timber Run Australian Shepherds. I have been showing and training dogs for over 14 years, and I have been training and showing Australian Shepherds for 6 years. I grew up with a passion for dogs, and at a very young age my parents bought my very first dog, Timber (Shetland Sheepdog) . I wanted to show him at our county fair and did quite well. I was only able to show him for 4 years, because he was plagued with severe health problems that prevented him from showing. My family was like most people, we didn't do much research on the breeder we got our dogs from; we just went out and bought one. His health issues could have been prevented if his breeder had been responsible with their breeding practices. When I grew older I decided I was going to research my next puppy's breeder. I wanted to explore the professional dog show world and soon found our first Aussie, Willow. Willow was bred by Ryan Creek Aussies an AKC Breeder of Merit. She has done amazing in the show ring and has exceeded our expectations as a mother.  Breeding top quality show dogs as well as loyal happy healthy quality pets is very important to me.
